Attractions and Things To Do

Within close walking distance from the flats, Tathra offers many things to do for families and couples. In Summer, across the road from the flats you can try bare foot bowling at the Tathra Bowling Club and over the road from the bowling club the kids can play in the Tathra playground and skate park next to the beach. The surf club and patrol beach are a stone throw from the playground.

Other activities Tathra has to offer include;
The golf club, tennis courts, surf lessons, bike hire, world class mountain biking tracks, snorkeling at Kianinny, fishing from the wharf, off the beach or in the river at Mogareeka.

Tathra has many more wonderful attractions for the holiday maker. There is the historic Tathra wharf, Mogareeka where the Bega river runs into the ocean at the end of Tathra Beach and Kaininny Bay where you can go for a swim, snorkel or a fantastic coastal walk to Wallagoot Lake.

If you want to go a bit further afield, Mimosa Rocks national park lies between Tathra and Bermagui and contains some of the most spectacular coast line in the country.

Tathra and the national park have abundant wildlife. It is quite common to see whales in close at Tathra Beach along with dolphins and schools of fish surfing in the waves on crystal clear days. There is also abundant bird life along with lots of wallabies, goannas, wombats and other wildlife that habitat the coast.
